Development of Front Cover.

I will now use screenshots to show the process which I took in creating my front cover for my magazine. I will note what changes had to be made in the creation process, what did work/didn’t work and what has been removed/added.

First of all, after opening a new document I added the standard dark red masthead, coupled with the magazine logo as in coherance to our chosen house style. I then added text to the masthead to begin personalizing this issue as a more specific one detached from the rest of my groups. I also then began labelling where possible advertisement could be placed on my layout.

Now, in the spirit of the country theme our group has decided upon, I have constructed a replica Finnish flag; skewing it fractionally for better effect. I then also added the band name and intro onto the cover in a rough draft as to where it should finally go.

Following this; I promptly rendered my band picture and added it to the front cover, intertwining it other aspects of the magazine cover. I then also added a custom made barcode to the bottom left of my cover, in accordance to house style.

Finally, I add the finishing touches, altering the picture so that it blends in better with their band name. Also I added the issue’s dates, featured bands in the issue as well as advertisement for promotional competitions in the magazine.
